He is currently working on his PhD thesis titled \u2018Islamic Traditionalism in a Globalizing World: The Study of Sunni Muslim Identity Formation in Contemporary Kerala, South India.\u2019 His research interests include Sociology\/Anthropology of religion, Islam, sociological theory and identity politics.
