Alejandro Paz is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Toronto. His book Latinos in Israel: Language and Unexpected Citizenship, illustrates how language use and mediatized interaction are under-appreciated aspects of the politics of immigration, citizenship, and national belonging in Israel. Alejandro’s current research explores the impact of Israeli English-language news websites on the digital dissemination of news about Israel and Palestine specifically, and about the Middle East more generally.
