Armando Salvatore is Keenan Chair of Interfaith Studies and Professor of Global Religious Studies (Society and Politics) at McGill University, in Montreal. His work brings to light various dimensions of religious traditions and political formations in historical and comparative perspective, particularly the case of Islam. He is the author of The Sociology of Islam: Knowledge, Power and Civility and the chief editor of The Wiley Blackwell History of Islam.
