Levin Mary Jacob is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, the University of Hyderabad, India. Her areas of interests include translation, religion, gender, language and travel. By reading the mission archive, her research explores the work of English Protestant women missionaries among the native Syrian Christian women of Kerala in the 19th century. She has also worked on the gender politics involved in Malayalam translations of the Bible between 1990 and 2000.
